Homework, together and in the open.
Ödev Odak keeps track of a student’s homework and holds the apps they choose until the homework is done. With the optional parent connection you can see the homework too, add assignments and plan focus time together.
How do you connect?
A connection is only made when both sides approve it. Ödev Odak must be installed on both your iPhone or iPad, and both of you must be signed in with an Apple or Google account.
- The student creates a code. In Settings › Parental controls, under “I’m a student”, they create a code and share it with you. The code is valid for 10 minutes and can be used only once.
- You send a request. On your own device, paste the code in Settings › Parental controls and send a connection request.
- The student approves. The request appears on the student’s device; they check your name and approve it.
- The student allows the focus limit. If you want to use the focus limit, the student turns on “Personal focus permission” on their device and chooses the apps to limit.
What can and can’t you see?
With a connection you can
- See each assignment’s name, subject, description and due date
- See which assignments are done and their Classroom submission status
- See whether an assignment was verified with photos
- See whether the focus limit is applied
- Add and edit assignments
- Set or remove a focus limit with “Limit until homework is done”
You won’t see
- Homework photos
- Which apps were chosen, or what’s inside those apps
- The Google Classroom account and its access details
- Anything outside the app, such as messages, location or browsing history; Ödev Odak never collects these
The student stays in control too
- The student can turn “Personal focus permission” off at any time. While it is off, the focus rule you set is not applied.
- Either side can end the connection at any time. Parent access then ends; the remote rule is removed when the student’s device is online and the app is opened. Added assignments stay.
- Assignments and focus rules you add sync while the student’s app is open.
- The focus limit uses the iPhone’s Screen Time technology; permission and app choices are managed separately by Apple on each device.
Age and the photo check
Homework tracking and focus mode can be used by students of any age. The AI photo check is different: under the terms of the service it uses, users must confirm that they are 18 or older before starting it. Students under 18 should not use the photo check. Details are in section 4 of the Terms of Use.
